My target audience will be between 16 and 20, when people are growing up and becoming independent or moving away from home. However, I am not sure what look of magazine will appeal to them. It will be a rock music based magazine, so possibly aimed more at males, or any females who are really interested in rock music. I have a few ideas of the layouts of my magazine, but I have yet to decide on colours.
I would appreciate it if people could answer this questionnaire, it would help with final designs.
1. Rock music magazines, such as Kerrang use dark colours, such as black and reds. I may use these to emphasise the rock feel. Would you buy a magazine like this or would you prefer brighter colours?
2. Would you prefer lots of pictures on the cover or would that put you off?
3. Q magazine costs £3.90, and Kerrang! costs around £2. Which would you be more willing to pay for this magazine?
4. Would you like to see bands the target audiences age on the front cover, and have features about them inside?
5. Which of these names do you like?
a. The Sound
b. Crash
c. Brand New
d. Impact!
e. Any other suggestions?
